The problem
Most modern marine engines recirculate part of the exhaust gas to meet emission limits. Liquid and soot that pass through scrubbers and filters follow the gas back into the engine.
What the Lynx separator does
The Lynx separator removes liquid, black carbon and soot particles from the exhaust flow before it returns to the engine.
It takes less space than the filters and scrubbers it works alongside.
The rotating filter does not clog when the load varies, so it holds its capacity through changes in engine load.

Flebu has supplied centrifugal fans, silencers, dampers and related steel products to the power, maritime and offshore industries since 1955.
What happened, and when
- Flebu International signed an exclusive sales and marketing agreement for Lynx EGR on 10 January 2018.
- The agreement gave access to a market InnSep put at 70,000 ships worldwide.
- Lynx EGR opened for international customers on 20 March 2018.
- On 24 May 2023 InnSep stated that the separator was in use with Norwegian partners for cleaning EGR on ships.
- Innovation Norway profiled the technology for reducing shipping emissions in The Explorer in 2019.
